MIRTEC INTELLI-PRO AI: The AOI Programming Skills Now Live Inside the Machine

October 2, 2026

Angle: Skill — the craft that used to live in a handful of senior operators is moving into the software.

Ask any AOI line supervisor where their real expertise sits, and they will point to one or two people. Not the machine — the people who can teach a new board in an afternoon, tune out false calls without smothering real defects, and review a stack of flagged PCBs with a reliable eye. When that person is on vacation or resigns, programming queues pile up and escape risk climbs. MIRTEC’s INTELLI-PRO AI is built for exactly this bottleneck: it moves the core programming and judgment skills of a veteran AOI engineer into the machine itself.

Teaching: 90% less time, expert-grade results

The heart of the package is the deep-learning Auto-Matching function. It searches the parts library for the right component type and size, then automatically places inspection windows with pre-programmed algorithms and parameters. MIRTEC’s numbers are specific: teaching work time drops by about 90% compared with manual teaching, and 50% compared with automatic teaching without deep learning. The offline Optimum Inspection Tool then debugs and optimizes the recipe — under general conditions, roughly ten PCBs are enough to reach optimized results.

The more important number is qualitative. Through the Teaching Wizard, MIRTEC states that even unskilled operators can maintain teaching quality at about 85% of the highest-skilled operators. That is the whole point: the skill floor of the whole team rises, instead of the line depending on one expert’s memory and habits.

Judgment: classification and OCR handled by AI

After inspection, the AI Auto Defect Classification engine sorts the results automatically — MIRTEC notes it is currently the only manufacturer running this technology in real production environments. The hours operators spend reviewing flagged PCBs shrink accordingly. On the character side, MIRTEC was the first in the industry to apply AI to OCR; characters are found and taught automatically during programming, and recognition stays reliable even on damaged laser markings.

For odd-shaped parts that defeat rule-based inspection, the AI Inspection Algorithm takes a different route: upload an image of the target, mark the defect location, train in the AI Training Tool, and register the resulting file. No rule-writing, no parameter archaeology.

Where it fits

INTELLI-PRO AI is a software and algorithm package across MIRTEC’s complete AOI line — the MV-6 OMNI family, MV-6TB, and others — connecting inspection, monitoring, and production management. Integrated SPI/AOI data, real-time SPC, remote debugging, and TRMS-based centralized management tie the smart factory layer together, and on-site AI training keeps improving accuracy with real production data rather than frozen library models.

For used-equipment buyers, this matters twice. First, an INTELLI-PRO-capable MIRTEC line is cheaper to run with a small team. Second, the skill gap that used to justify paying for an experienced programmer shrinks — the machine carries most of the craft on board.

If you want to see it live, MIRTEC is bringing its full 3D AOI, SPI, and smart factory portfolio to SMTA Guadalajara, October 7–8, 2026 (Booth 302) and SMTA International, Rosemont, October 27–29 (Booth 2929), with the MV-9SIP semiconductor system at SEMICON West, October 13–15 (Booth 6162).
